It’s almost time to start planning for holiday presents this year. But maybe there’s someone you know that plays (or want to play) Dungeons & Dragons or another tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) and you’re not sure what you should get them. Or maybe you’re looking for something for yourself? Either way, here are some suggestions on what you can get this year.
Please keep in mind that not all of these are sales, necessarily, but rather suggestions on what might be a good gift idea to give this holiday season. I would also suggest speaking to the person (or someone close to the person) that you plan on getting the gift for as tastes and preferences are really important and valid in this hobby.
Also, this is not sponsored, so none of the companies whose products are mentioned here have paid me to mention them.
So here is a quick list, or you can watch a video below.
- Heroes Of The Borderland D&D Starter Set ($54.99). A great starter set to give someone that is new or want to try playing (or run) Dungeons & Dragons. It has everything that you need, including maps, dice, a play guide, and adventures. Uses the latest 2024 edition rules set.
- Stranger Things: Welcome To The Hellfire Club D&D Box Set ($59.99). For the Stranger Things fan in your life that loves to play (or wants to learn) D&D. In fact, I suggest getting this set over the Heroes Of The Borderland set because of how fun and exciting it is, especially if you are a fan of the game. It comes with maps, adventure and play guides, dice, tokens, a fantastic Dungeon Master screen, and more!
- Stranger Things Dice Sets from Sirius Dice ($19.99). Sirius Dice offers themed dice based off of the main characters from the show as well as decorative mini dice cups (a stylish cup that holds a set of mini dice, which is included in the set). Another great purchase for the Stranger Things fan.
- Holiday & Frostmaiden’s Aurora Dice Advent Calendars from FanRoll Dice ($59.99 – 64.99). Great advent calendar options that are centered around Dungeons & Dragons and celebrates the winter holiday season.
- Advent Dice Calendar From Q Workshop ($66.00). Another dice advent calendar themed around gingerbread men.
- Band Of Idiots Store (varies). A passionate small business that sells a lot of great accessories that game masters and players can use in their Dungeons & Dragons and TTRPGs.
- Beadle & Grimm’s Black Friday Sale (buy Premium box, get anything else 60% off). A premium D&D product store, there are some great items that you can purchase that are well worth the money spent, especially for Dungeon Masters.
- Elderwood Academy’s Dungeon Master Tome (varies). Expensive, but worth the price. A high quality Dungeon Master screen that is very versatile, practical and offers a lot of support to the Dungeon Master to run their game like a pro.
- Donate To Let’s Quest! Donate to this great cause who strives to provide products and resources to schools and libraries to run games for kids and the community.
- Fantasy Games From Fee League Publishing. A Swedish company that has published a number of fantastic games, such as Lord Of The Rings 5th Edition (D&D), The One Ring (their own system for the Lord Of The Rings property), and Dragonbane.
- Shadowdark from The Arcane Library. A new, award winning RPG that has been described as a great game in its own right but is also a popular option to introduce D&D to new players to the hobby.
- Daggerheart from Darrington Press. A brand new TTRPG released earlier this year, Daggerheart has become extremely popular. A high fantasy game that uses a different set of rules and dice system. Created by the popular Dungeons & Dragons live stream group, Critical Role.
- Critical Role’s Critmas Sale. A lot of great merchandise from the popular media entertainment group that got their start in playing Dungeons & Dragons. If you know that someone needs a storage solution for their dice, I would recommend checking out the Bailey’s Dice Bag Of Hoarding.
- Baldur’s Gate 3 Merchandise from Larian Studios. 2023 Game Of The Year, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a popular video game that uses the Dungeons & Dragons game as well as the game’s most popular world setting, The Forgotten Realms. The gaming studio behind Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios, has a merchandise store where they sell a number of products based on their game.
