On Wednesday, July 30th, the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) team held a GenCon press event at the Indiana Roof Ballroom where they gave us a sneak peak into the future of the most popular tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG). The D&D team there consisted of Executive Producer Greg Bilsland, Product Architect Laura Hohman, Managing Game Designer Justice Arman, Game Designer Makenzie De Armas, and Senior Graphic Designer Matt Cole.
The team presented on the upcoming expansion books in The Forgotten Realms, entitled Heroes Of Faerun (for players) and Adventures In Faerun (for Dungeon Masters).
After their presentation, I was able to sit down with Makenzie De Armas and Greg Blisland to talk more about the books. We went into details about how the books are set up for players and dungeon masters of any knowledge level about the setting, what’s new about the lore of Faerun in the books, the changes for the Fighter subclass Purple Dragon Knight, how the new adventures in the Dungeon Master expansion are written, and of course I had to talk to them about the Barbarian class for these books.
